WiFi Contract Winner Has Luna Ties

(BOISE, ID) – The winner of a $2.1 million contract to supply wireless Internet service to select Idaho schools has ties to Superintendent Tom Luna, who oversaw the contracting process. The Nashville-based Education Networks of America gave $6,000 to Luna’s campaign from 2009 to 2012. ENA customer service director Garry Lough also worked for Luna before moving to the private sector last year. Several state lawmakers have voiced concerns about favoritism, claiming the contract should’ve been overseen by the state’s Division of Purchasing, rather than Luna’s office.
