The Gold Cup is played every two years and features 12 teams from North and Central America and the Caribbean.

Donovan, who was playing in his second game for the national team since his five-month break, is now the first player to have 50 goals and 50 assists for the U.S. national team.

The Americans started the scoring quick when Wondolowski scored on a rebound in the 12th minute.

Wondolowski scored his second goal in the 36th minute to make it 2-0, but Belize’s Ian Gaynair scored on a header two minutes later to tighten up the contest.

After that, it was all U.S.A.

Next up for the U.S., a meeting with Cuba in Salt Lake city on Saturday.
