Board of Education Approves P.E. Hearings
Published at(POCATELLO, ID) – The State Board of Education has approved a plan that will allow public hearings discussing the possibility of mandating physical education classes for high schoolers. During a meeting at Idaho State University on Thursday, the board voted 4 to 3 to move forward with the hearings. If approved, P.E. would be a requirement for graduation starting in 2019. The plan has the full support of medical professionals and the American Heart Association. Opponents argue that the requirement should be left up to each school district.
