“Expendables 3” Begins Filming in Bulgaria

Frank Masi/Lionsgate(NEW YORK) — Filming on The Expendables 3 has gotten underway in Bulgaria.
The 2015 film, which again stars producer/co-writer Sylvester Stallone as mercenary team leader Barney, will feature series newcomer Mel Gibson as the heavy. The Oscar winner will play Barney’s thought-dead former partner, who reemerges to try to terminate Barney’s team.
Series veterans Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Terry Crews and Arnold Schwarzenegger will join newcomers Harrison Ford, Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas, Twilight‘s Kellan Lutz, MMA fighter Ronda Rousey, boxing champion Victor Ortiz and Glen Powell, recently seen in The Dark Knight Rises.
The latest Expendables flick is scheduled for a 2014 release.
