First Lawsuit Filed in Southwest Airlines Accident at LaGuardia Airport
Published at(NEW YORK) — The first lawsuit has been filed in connection with the recent nose-first landing at New York’s LaGuardia Airport.
A resident of Jonesville, S.C., Jacqueline Young was a passenger on the Southwest Airlines flight that incorrectly landed on its nose wheel before its main landing gear last month. Sixteen people were injured in the July 22 crash.
According to New York Newsday, the woman suffered permanent injuries in the accident and is seeking unspecified damages.
Federal investigators determined that the incorrect landing caused the accident. Southwest later acknowledged that the landing violated normal procedures.
