The price for a gallon of regular unleaded is $3.63, down 1.4 cents from a week ago. The price is also down just over a penny compared to a year ago, according to the Department of Energy.

Prices have been dropping around much of the country. In California, prices are below $4 a gallon for the first time in weeks. The average price in that state has fallen to $3.95 in the past week.

Still, the West Coast has the most expensive gas at $3.89.

The Gulf Coast still has the cheapest gas at $3.47.
