Brown said the fire, 150 miles away from San Francisco, is threatening the hydroelectric stations that feed power to the city.

Brown said in a statement, “the wildfires that started in Tuolumne County have caused damage to electrical infrastructure serving the City and County of San Francisco, and now threaten damage to property, equipment, and resources of the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission and the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department.”

On Thursday, Brown issued a state of emergency in Tuolumne County, near the Yosemite National Park border.

According to the US Forest Service, the blaze has covered 125,620 acres. It is only 5% contained.
