Jered Weaver Tosses L.A. Angels Past Toronto, 7-3
Published at(ANAHEIM, Calif.) — Angels starting pitcher Jered Weaver allowed three runs over 7 2-3 innings of work as Los Angeles (50-58) defeated the Toronto Blue Jays (50-59) on Saturday night, 7-3.
The 30-year-old Weaver (6-5) allowed seven hits and two walks while striking out five on 108 pitches, en route to his three straight victory. The three-time All-Star had his streak of consecutive scoreless innings at home snapped at 26 1-3 innings, when Blue Jays third baseman Brett Lawrie hit a solo home run to lead off the third inning.
Blue Jays starter Esmil Rogers (3-6) was torched for seven runs, five earned over five innings. He allowed 10 hits including a solo home run to Angels outfielder Kole Calhoun in the fifth.
