The Buffalo Bills quarterback injured his knee during practice Saturday when he slipped and stumbled awkwardly on a rubber mat while switching fields.  The injury is not believed to be serious.

Head coach Doug Marrone referred to the injury as “a bump,” and listed Kolb as “day by day.”

Kolb was immediately examined by head trainer Bud Carpenter and escorted to the locker room.  He was not available for comment, but Marrone knows that Kolb would prefer not to miss any time.

“The one thing I do know about Kevin is that he is a tough son of a gun,” Marrone said. “He’ll get back out there quickly if it’s up to him.”

Kolb signed to the Bills this past offseason and is competing with rookie EJ manual for the starting quarterback job.  He is entering his seventh NFL season.
