Parcells One of Seven Inducted Into NFL Hall-of-Fame

Those inducted include: Receiver Cris Carter, offensive linemen Jonathan Ogden and Larry Allen, defensive lineman Warren Sapp and Curley Culp, linebacker David Robinson, and head coach Bill Parcells.

Parcells, a two-time Coach of the Year, is the only coach in history to take four teams to the playoffs. He also won two Super Bowls while coaching the New York Giants.

“I know there are a lot of deserving people out there. Some deserve it more than I do,” Parcells said. “But I want to tell the committee members that  none of those could possibly appreciate it more than I do. I’m extremely grateful.”

Receiver Cris Carter caught 1,101 passes for 13,899 yards and 130 touchdowns in 16 NFL seasons.

“I love football,” An emotional Carter said. “I love this game. This game gave me identity. It gave me a sense of purpose.”

Warren Sapp, the 1999 Defensive Player of the Year, helped lead the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to its first Super Bowl title.

Larry Allen was an 11-time Pro Bowler, who won the Super Bowl in 1995 with the Dallas Cowboys.

Jonathan Ogden played his entire career with the Baltimore Ravens. He was an 11-time Pro Bowler and won one Super Bowl.

Curley Culp played 14 pro seasons between the Kansas City Chiefs, Houston Oilers and Detroit Lions. A five-time Pro Bowler, Culp helped lead the Chiefs to the 1970 NFL title.

Dave Robinson made the NFL’s All-Decade team of the 1960’s and helped the Green Bay Packers win three NFL titles.
