Rees Throws for 3 TDs in Notre Dame Win

Getty Notre Dame Temple?  SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1377997963453Jonathan Daniel/Getty Images(SOUTH BEND, Ind.) — Tommy Rees threw for three touchdowns as No. 14 Notre Dame thumps Temple 28-6 Saturday, earning head coach Brian Kelly his 200th career victory.

Rees, who became the starting quarterback when quarterback Everett Golson was suspended for the fall semester, threw touchdown passes to DaVaris Daniels on the first two drives of the game. Rees finished the day completing 16-of-23 passes for 346 yards. 

Temple (0-1) is now 2-76 all-time against ranked opponents.

Notre Dame (1-0) did not commit a turnover, improving its record to 11-0 under coach Kelly when its turnover free.

Temple quarterback Connor Reilly completed 23-of-46 passes for 228 yards and added 65 yards on the ground.

Next up for the Fighting Irish, a trip to Ann Arbor to take on No. 17 Michigan.
