According to a new study published in the journal Pediatrics, soda consumption can be linked to aggressive actions in children, CNN reports.

The survey studied children who were 5-years-old. It revealed that children who drink at least four servings of soda daily are twice as likely to display violent behavior – including physically and verbally attacking others – than children who don’t drink any soda.

The children who drank soda were also less social and more likely to have trouble paying attention, the study says.

While the American Beverage Association disagrees with the study’s findings, the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends limiting a child’s consumption of caffeinated or sugar-sweetened beverages.
