(HOUSTON) — The Houston Texans will activate safety Ed Reed from the physically unable to perform list on Saturday.
Reed signed with the Texans in the offseason but has spent all of training camp and the preseason on the PUP list. The Texans have until 4 p.m. ET Saturday to officially remove him from the list. If they don’t, Reed would be required to remain on the regular-season PUP list for at least the first six weeks of the regular season.
“He’ll be back [Saturday] and we’re hoping to do some field drills on Monday and Tuesday with our extra days, with him,” coach Gary Kubiak said. “So we’ll probably make a quick decision early in the week, Monday or Tuesday on his availability for San Diego. But we’re sitting here hoping and we’ll see how that goes.”
