Who Will Join Pro Dancer Derek Hough on New Season of “DWTS”?
(NEW YORK) — We won’t know which celebrities will be on the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars until they’re announced Sept. 4 on ABC’s Good Morning America, but we’re finding out more about which pro dancers will return, including last season’s champ, Derek Hough.
For the 17th season of the hit ABC show, production will be condensed from two nights to one, and that’s got those involved excited.
“…We’re having a different format, and it’s going to be different, so I definitely wanted to be a part of that transition,” Hough explained to ABC News Radio. “[I]t’s going to keep everything a bit faster-paced. Everything’s going to move a little bit quicker.”
As far as which celebrities will be hitting the dance floor, Hough, who won the spring 2013 season with Kellie Pickler, had a reason to be mum.
“I don’t know,” he said. “I don’t know any people on the show or anything. I’m always the last person to know.”
As for dancers, what has been revealed is that pro Kym Johnson won’t be back for the 17th season of Dancing with the Stars, when it returns Sept. 16 to ABC.
