Apple CEO Tim Cook Joins Twitter
Published at | Updated at(PALO ALTO, Calif.) — Sure, iPhone lines won’t let up and iOS 7 has been downloaded in droves, but Apple’s CEO apparently still has time for the people. Not only did Tim Cook take time out Friday to visit the iPhone shoppers at the store in Palo Alto, Calif., but Apple’s chief also joined Twitter.
“Visited Retail Stores in Palo Alto today. Seeing so many happy customers reminds us of why we do what we do,” @tim_cook tweeted Friday afternoon.
Apple confirmed to ABC News that this is in fact Cook’s official Twitter account.

Cook, who became CEO of Apple in August 2011 when Steve Jobs stepped down, is a private person and has only spoken to a handful of reporters since taking over the helm.
Cook isn’t the only Apple executive on Twitter; Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services Eddy Cue and its Senior Vice President Worldwide Marketing Phil Schiller are also on the social network.
