Benghazi Rocked by Powerful Blast on Anniversary of Consulate Attack
Published at(BENGHAZI, Libya) — Benghazi, Libya, was rocked by a powerful explosion on Wednesday, exactly one year after the U.S. consulate there was attacked by militants.
The blast caused damage to the country’s foreign ministry building and a branch of the Libyan Central Bank.
No one was killed but several passersby suffered minor injuries, according to several reports.
The explosion comes on the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2012 attack that killed Christopher Stevens, the U.S. ambassador to Libya, and three other Americans.
No one has yet claimed responsibility for Wednesday’s blast.
