The 48-year-old actor showed up at a Los Angeles courthouse Tuesday morning and when a TMZ cameraman asked what his dream case would be, Sheen said he wanted to get assigned to a “multiple-homicide case; something really interesting.”

Even though Sheen seemed happy to be there, he admitted, “I don’t know if they’re going to keep me today because it might prove to be a distraction.”

Sheen later tweeted a photo of himself holding his juror badge, and wrote, “I took one look at the guy, and knew immediately: mistrial.” He later told TMZ he had been excused from serving as a juror.

Sheen joins another celebrity, who recently performed his civic duty, Tom Hanks. Still, when a female member of the L.A. City Attorney’s Office approached Hanks during a break and thanked him for serving on the jury of a domestic violence case, the defense requested a hearing, alleging jury tampering, and both sides agreed to a plea deal.
