Dow, Nasdaq Close Lower
Published at | Updated at(NEW YORK) — Tuesday trading on Wall Street made for a roller coaster session. The markets started low and moved into positive territory by mid-session, only to decline again by the closing bell.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed down 67 points at 15,334. The Nasdaq Composite rose 3 points to end the day at 3,768. The S&P 500 gave up 4 points, closing at 1,697.
The latest Standard and Poor’s/Case-Shiller Home Price Index shows prices in the 20 cities it surveys were up nearly 12.5 percent. But prices may be leveling off.
