Friends of Boston Marathon Bombing Suspect Plead Not Guilty
Published at | Updated at(BOSTON) — Three friends of Boston marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev are pleading not guilty to charges that they hindered the investigation into the attack.
Two of Tsarnaev’s friends, Dias Kadyrbayev and Azamat Tazhayakov, pled not guilty to conspiracy to obstruct justice and obstructing justice with intent to impede authorities.
A third friend, Robel Phillipos, pled not guilty to making false statements to FBI agents during the investigation, CNN reports.
Kadyrbayev and Tazhayakov are being held without bail.
Phillipos is free on bond and is being monitored electronically.
According to CNN, Kadyrbayev and Tazhayakov became friends with Tsarnaev at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth. Phillipos is allegedly a friend of Tsarnaev’s from Cambridge.
