Good Spud Prices for Local Farmers

(IDAHO FALLS, ID) – Potato prices are looking good this season. Farm researchers with the University of Idaho say prices have more than doubled from what they were last year. However, once spud harvest is finished in the next few weeks, officials expect that prices will dip, just as they did before. They say the higher prices are likely the result of about 8 percent fewer acres being planted this year, which drives up demand.
