“Insidious: Chapter 2” Debuts at the Top of the Box Office
Published at(LOS ANGELES) — Insidious: Chapter 2 topped the box office in its first weekend, bringing in $41.05 million between Friday and Sunday.
The horror sequel, starring Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne, made $20.06 million just on its opening day on Friday.
According to Forbes, this Friday marked the biggest opening day in September history, a title previously held by Sweet Home Alabama in 2002.
In second place at the box office this weekend was action-comedy The Family with $14.5 million. The film stars Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer, Tommy Lee Jones, and Dianna Agron.
