The Oscar-winning actress and Grammy Award-winning singer channels TV’s best known fixer, Olivia Pope, in a new Funny or Die spoof on Kerry Washington’s hit show, Scandal.

In “Scandalous,” Hudson, who prefers to be called “covert scandal manager,” crosses the nation’s capital, meeting clients in dark alleys and on park benches. But instead of solving salacious scandals, she finds herself explaining the Affordable Care Act (ACA), or Obamacare, as it has come to be known.

“What’s your issue?” her character, Lydia Cole, dressed like Olivia Pope in a stylish white trench coat, asks one distraught woman.

“My company’s health care. It doesn’t cover mammograms,” the woman explains.

“The ACA covers preventative care for women’s health,” Hudson tells her, before adding, “Girl, go find you a scandal.”

When Hudson meets up with a senator whose mistress is pregnant, she exclaims, “Finally, an actual scandal,” only to have the senator explain that his mistress lacks health insurance.

She then shows him how to sign up for coverage on healthcare.gov.

Hudson was part of a group, including Amy Poehler and representatives for Oprah Winfrey and Alicia Keys, who met with officials at the White House to discuss ways of using pop culture to reach young people about the ACA, which picks up steam Tuesday.
