During the Jets final drive of the game, Buccaneers linebacker Lavonte David pushed Smith after he was out of bounds, which set up the Folk 48-yard field goal to win it.

Smith was 24 of 38 for 256 yards with a touchdown and interception.

“It’s good to get a win for the Jets,” Smith said.  “It’s not about me, it’s about my teammates and it’s about this organization.”

The Jets will have a short week with a game on Thursday against AFC East rival the New England Patriots.

“I thought Geno did a really nice job for a lot of it,” Jets head coach Rex Ryan said.  “He ran, he made some big plays running.  He had to make some plays.”
