Raising McCain, premiering Saturday night at 10 p.m. Eastern time on Pivot, is a docu-talk series in which the author and former MSNBC political analyst travels the country and talks with “regular people” about topics such as bullying and romance.

McCain says of her new program, “I am just so grateful that I have the platform to show young girls out there, because I never had that, that you can support your gay friends and have a good time and drink and have sex and talk a lot about politics.”

She calls Pivot the perfect home for Raising McCain because she’s “too conservative” for MSNBC and “too liberal” for Fox.

And what does her father think of the show? She says, “My dad is not always supportive of the things that I do. We have had conflicts, and many times, he did not love when I worked at MSNBC. I am the happiest I have every been making this show, and I really believe in it, and for that reason alone he supports it.”
