Millipedes Cause Australian Train Wreck

The Daily Mail reports that untold scores of the Black Portuguese millipedes crossed train tracks 25 miles north of Perth on Tuesday, meeting their demises when the trains’ wheels rumbled by.  But the bugs had the last laugh: the guts of the crushed creepy-crawlers slicked the tracks so much, one train had trouble stopping at a station and rammed another.

Six humans complained of neck stiffness after the mishap.

In March 2009, a similar migration of the bugs across the tracks snarled Aussie train traffic for miles.
