The FBI is now scrambling to learn anything and everything they can about the shooter’s past.

“No piece of information is too small,” authorities said at a news conference on Monday. Officials said they want to learn everything they can about Alexis’ recent movement, contacts and associates.

Alexis, 34, joined the Navy as a reservist in 2007 and got his rank in 2009. He was an aviation electrician and it is unclear why he was detached from service.

He was born in Queens, N.Y., and his last known residence was in Fort Worth, Texas, according to the FBI.

The shooter’s identity was confirmed based on partial fingerprint analysis. Authorities do not yet have a motive.

The FBI is asking that anyone with information on Alexis call 1-800-CALL-FBI.

Alexis’ death brought the toll of the carnage at the Navy Sea Systems Command headquarters to 13, plus at least 12 wounded.
