On Friday, Rihanna posted a photo on Instagram of her holding a squirrel-like primate known as the slow loris.  She wrote in the caption, “Look who was talkin dirty to me! #Thailand #nightlife.”

The problem is Rihanna shouldn’t have been allowed to get up close and personal with the slow loris because it’s a protected species.

Police in Phuket, Thailand, said in a statement over the weekend obtained by the U.K.’s Metro, “Authorities were alerted to the picture and last night police arrested the two individuals who brought out the loris as a photo opportunity for tourists.”

The individuals — a 20-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy — face charges that carry penalties of up to four years in prison and a fine.  Authorities confiscated two lorises from the duo.

In addition to the loris photo, Rihanna posted pics of her interacting with elephants on the street, among other things.
