Taysom Hill And BYU Run Past (15) Texas, 40-21
Published at(PROVO, Utah) — BYU Sophomore quarterback Taysom Hill rushed for 259 yards and three touchdowns as the Cougars (1-1) defeated No. 15 Texas (1-1), 40-21 on Saturday night.
BYU’s running game was clicking on all cylinders with sophomore running back Jamaal Williams racking up 182 yards on 30 carries and junior running back Paul Lasike rushing for 87 yards on 15 carries. The Cougars finished the game with 550 yards rushing, breaking a 55-year-old team record.
Hill reached the endzone on runs of 68, 20 and 26 yards. His 259 rushing yards is the second-most in school history behind Eldon Fortie’s 1962 record of 272 yards.
