Undocumented Immigrants in Calif. Closer to Getting Driver’s Licenses
Published at | Updated at(SACRAMENTO, Calif.) — Undocumented immigrants in the Golden State are one step closer to being able to obtain a driver’s license.
California’s state legislature on Thursday night passed AB 60, a bill written by Assemblyman Luis Alejo, D-Salinas.
After the measure was approved, Gov. Jerry Brown issued a statement suggesting that he intends to sign the bill into law.
“This bill will enable millions of people to get to work safely and legally. Hopefully, it will send a message to Washington that immigration reform is long past due,” Brown said in the statement.
