Jeter has battled ankle issues all season, which has limited him to just 17 games this season.

He has twice fractured his ankle since last October, but a recent CT scan on his ankle came back negative, meaning there is no fracture or break.

With the regular season winding down, Yankees manager Joe Girardi doesn’t expect Jeter to go away without a fight.

“I don’t think you will ever get him to concede,” Girardi said. “I believe that one of the things that have  made him great for so long is his ability to fight through things and find a way to get it done even when it has looked like he might be too nicked up.”

The 39-year-old Jeter is hitting just .190 this season with one home run and seven RBIs.

Jeter fractured his ankle originally during Game 1 of the ALCS last October.
