Quarterback A.J. McCarron shined as he completed 15 of 16 passes for 166 yards and four touchdowns in the first half. McCarron threw four touchdowns in a game for the seventh time in his career.

Alabama’s defense also came to play on Saturday. They allowed Georiga State to gain just 175 yards of offense, including only 15 yards rushing.

The Tide’s defense hasn’t allowed a touchdown in three straight games.

McCarron’s backup, Blake Simms played well when he was in the game. He completed 14 of 18 passes for 130 yards and a touchdown. On the day, Alabama quarterbacks went 29 of 34 for 296 yards.

T.J. Yeldon led Alabama with 50 rushing yards and a touchdown while Derrick Henry wasn’t far behind him with 50 rushign yards.

Alabama was playing without safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, who was suspended for violating team rules. He reportedly accepted a short-term loan from an assistant.
