A Handful of Russians Own a Lion Share of Its Wealth

iStock/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) — A mere 110 people own 35 percent of Russia’s wealth, the Global Wealth Report by Credit Suisse released on Wednesday finds.
Breaking that down further in the country of 139 million, there is one billionaire for every $11 billion in Russian household wealth. Worldwide, there’s a billionaire for every $170 billion in household wealth.
Yet, the United States is where you want to be to get rich since it accounts for 42 percent of the world’s billionaires.
As for how the world is doing overall, Credit Suisse says that despite economic slowdowns and other factors, household wealth has more than doubled since 2000 to $241 trillion.
