Bidders Competing for Hoku Site
Published at | Updated at(POCATELLO, ID) – Bidding began this week on the Hoku site in Pocatello. The bulk auction for the 67-acre site closed Wednesday morning, with the estimated $700 million facility going for a meager $3.7 million. A piecemeal bidding process will remain in place until later tonight, and a judge will determine which of the two bidding methods will be better to pay back creditors. J.H. Kelley and Louisiana Chemical Equipment are currently the two leading bidders, though a third, unnamed company hopes to have the plant up and running within three months if they win.
