Bills Ready for Brown’s Defense
Published at(NEW YORK) — The Buffalo Bills will travel to Cleveland to take on the Browns on Thursday night.
The Bills are coming off a 23-20 win over the defending Super Bowl champion Ravens last Sunday and rookie quarterback EJ Manuel knows how tough the Browns defense is.
“They do a great job flying to the ball, they do a great job covering deep, their safeties are going to try and play in the box to stop the run,” Manuel said. “I think we have some things we do against them to counter that.”
Buffalo wide receiver Stevie Johnson is also looking forward to playing in primetime. “We don’t get many times to play national televised games,” Johnson said. “This is big for us so hopefully we can go out and show who we are.”
Brian Hoyer will get the call for the Browns again at quarterback. He has guided the Browns to two straight victories since getting the nod in week 3.
“They’re not very simple,” Hoyer said of the Bills defense. “Our coaches have done a good job of breaking it down to us and setting up a game plan that’s manageable in a short week.”
The Browns last started 3-2 in 2001.
