(BLACKFOOT, ID) – A group of high school students in Blackfoot are pushing for a city-wide ban on smoking. Students with the Independence High School Student Health Council say they’d like to see smoke-free parks and public areas designated for smoking. Mayor Mike Virtue says the city council is considering an ordinance along those lines, though nothing has been drafted as of yet. He says the city of Pocatello is also looking into a similar law.
