Bruins Nip Ducks 3-2 in a Shootout
Published at(BOSTON) — Jarome Iginla scored a goal in the shootout, helping the Boston Bruins edge the Anaheim Ducks 3-2 at the TD Garden.
Zdeno Chara’s goal tied the game at two with under three minutes to play in regulation for the Bruins, (8-4-0, 16 pts) who played at home just one night after the Boston Red Sox captured the World Series championship.
“It’s a sports city, clearly,” said Chris Kelly. “The crowd here is always awesome. Halloween night, a lot of people might decide to take their kids trick-or-treating. But not in Boston. They’re here.”
Tuukka Rask made 21 saves for the Bruins, helping the team snap a two-game losing streak.
The Ducks (10-3-1, 21 pts) were well on their way to a fourth-straight win before Chara’s goal injected life back into the Bruins.
