In a letter, Dean of Students Christian Gonzales wrote, “If you are planning to celebrate Halloween by dressing up in a costume, consider the impact your costume decision may have on others in the CU community.”

The message basically means stay away from costumes that can be construed as racist or offensive such as wearing sombreros, dressing up as geishas or even cowboys and Indians.

As far as throwing parties are concerned, Gonzales says that ghetto or hillbilly-themed Halloween bashes won’t be allowed either.
