Man Arrested After Standoff

(POCATELLO, ID) – A Pocatello man was taken into custody Saturday after a standoff with police. Authorities say 26-year-old Raymond Garcia violated a no-contact order and pulled a gun on his girlfriend before fleeing her home. He was later located on Barton Road on the south end of town, but refused to cooperate when police pulled him over. After about an hour, a SWAT team had to deploy tear gas in order to subdue Garcia, who was later booked into the Bannock County Jail. The incident remains under investigation.
