(NEW YORK) — Fans of ABC’s Scandal gasped when Jake Ballard showed up bloodied and beaten on his ex-lover Olivia Pope’s doorstep during last week’s episode. And actor Scott Foley, who plays Jake opposite Kerry Washington, who portrays Olivia, said this week fans will learn even more about his elusive character.
“With regards to Jake we’re going to find out more about him and [President] Fitz,” he told ABC News Radio earlier this month at Scandal’s red carpet premiere in New York City. “You know, they were both in the military together and were old Navy buddies. So we’re going to learn about that and see how their relationship has changed a bit because of the B613 and the Olivia Pope of it all. It’s going to be an interesting ride.”
Foley, whose wife introduced him to the hit ABC drama before he was cast as Jake last season, said creator Shonda Rhimes is great at packing a lot into each episode.
“Shonda and company have such a great way of cramming so much story into each episode that you will not be disappointed. You’ll be on the edge of your seat for every episode. You’ll be like, ‘I can’t believe it. Oh my God, I can’t believe that!'” Foley dished.
Scandal airs Thursday nights at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
