Democrats now have demands in the shutdown and debt ceiling talks: an end to the drastic budget cuts that went into effect months ago as part of the so-called sequester.

Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., has put forth a proposal that would ease some of those cuts in exchange for alterations to existing social security and medicare legislation. In response, Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., said on ABC’s This Week, he needs more information, saying “I cannot support saying that we’re going to diminish and lower social security in exchange for, I don’t know, anything.”

Also on This Week, Rep. Raul Labrador, R-Idaho, blamed President Obama for the lack of a solution. “It’s been very difficult to work with him,” says Labrador. “He wouldn’t even come to the table to negotiate, and now that he’s coming to the table, he rejected two offers.”
