Former Jersey Shore star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi says that, while progress has been made in the New Jersey shore area, the rebuilding effort still has a ways to go.

Appearing on Tuesday’s Good Morning America after being voted off ABC’s Dancing with the Stars Monday night, Snooki said she saw the rebuilding efforts firsthand.

“We filmed Snooki & JWoww there,” she said of her MTV show with fellow Jersey Shore alum Jennifer “JWoww” Farley. “The boardwalk was great.  It was back to normal, but then when we would drive a couple blocks down, houses were still in shambles.”

“So, there’s still a lot of work to be done,” Snooki added.

Snooki, who lost power during Superstorm Sandy along with millions of other New Jersey residents, gave back last year by participating in a celebrity phone bank that Disney, ABC News and the American Red Cross set up to take donations for Sandy relief.  The “Day of Giving” raised over $15.6 million.  She also participated in MTV’s Restore the Shore fundraising campaign with her Jersey Shore co-stars.
