The paper’s former news editor, chief reporter and another reporter all entered guilty pleas Wednesday.

The former chief executive of Murdoch’s British division, News International, Rebekah Brooks, and Andy Coulson, the former official spokesman for Prime Minister David Cameron — previously the paper’s editor – are among eight people who have denied the charges.

They’re all accused of eavesdropping on the voicemails of more than 600 people, including celebrities, politicians and royalty, over a period of five years — all in search of sensational stories for the now-defunct tabloid.

The trial is expected to last six months.
