Workplace Satisfaction Takes a Nosedive, Survey Finds

Salary.com’s survey of 2,000 people uncovered how people are feeling these days about going to work as the economic climate has improved a bit from the worst days of the Great Recession.
Overall worker satisfaction was at 59 percent in last year’s poll but in 2013, just under four in 10 respondents claimed to be happy at their job.
And the misery doesn’t stop there. While about three in four said they were 100 percent committed to their jobs in the 2012 survey, only around half feel that way today. Meanwhile, the percentage of those saying they were proud of their job performance dropped by 20 percent from last year.
It should come as no surprise then that 73 percent of Salary.com’s survey respondents say they’re only there for the paycheck, while seven in 10 would immediately tell the boss and co-workers “Adios” if they won the lottery jackpot.
