NFL? SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1383549442421National Football League (MIAMI) —  The Miami Dolphins have suspended starting guard Richie Incognito indefinitely for conduct detrimental to the team.

Incognito was reviewed by the Dolphins and the NFL for harassment of teammate Jonathan Martin, who abruptly left the team last week.

“The Miami Dolphins have suspended Richie Incognito for conduct detrimental to the team,” the team said in a statement released late Sunday night. “We believe in maintaining a culture of respect for one another and as a result we believe this decision is in the best interest of the organization at this time. As we noted earlier, we reached out to the NFL to conduct an objective and thorough review. We will continue to work with the league on this matter.”

Martin’s representatives contacted the Dolphins on Sunday due to the allegations of harassment and player misconduct.  The team has asked the NFL to look further into these allegations, but it is still unknown whether Martin will return to the team.  The Dolphins have until 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday to take him off the non-football related illness list.

The 30-year-old Incognito started all eight of Miami’s games this year, and will be an unrestricted free agent after the season.
