Florida Gators Suspend Three Players

Joe Robbins/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — The No. 10 Florida Gators will begin their season without three of their top players.
Head coach Billy Donovan announced Thursday that transfers Dorian Finney-Smith and Damontre Harris have been suspended. Joining them on the bench will be senior point guard Scottie Wilbekin.
“Well, I mean, you know, it is what it is,” Donovan said Thursday. “We just try to go with the guys that we know are going to be available, going to be there to play.”
All three players will continue to practice for the Gators, but it is unknown how long they will be suspended.
“There’s some things that they need to do,” Donovan said. “Hopefully, they will do it and we’ll see how that translates going forward.”
The Gators open up their season on November 8. against North Florida.
