But Google is looking to give anxious travelers some peace of mind before they embark on their trip by adding airports and train stations to Street View.

“In addition to scoping out your destination, Street View can help you cut down the stress of traveling by giving you a preview of your journey, too,” said Google Street View program manager Ulf Spitzer.  The new additions include 16 airports and 50 train and subway stations.

The new additions seem tailored for the people who like to plan their travels down to the last detail.  Through Google Maps, they can figure out the best route from the terminal to baggage claims and rental car services.

People trying to navigate John F. Kennedy International Airport or Los Angeles International Airport are out of luck though, as all of the transportation centers given the Street View treatment are outside of the country.  However, Google’s new additions also includes several transportation and aviation museums located in the United States.

If nothing else, it’ll be another way to pass the time while you’re waiting for your delayed flight to arrive.
