The New York Post reports researchers in Belgium conducted bacteria and toxicology tests on the most popular books at the Antwerp library and found traces of the herpes virus on borrowed copies of the popular E. L. James novel.  Fifty Shades of Grey is one of the 10 most borrowed books at the library.

The researchers said the levels of the herpes virus were not high enough to pose a health risk to borrowers.

The researchers also revealed that some of the most popular books at the library even tested positive for cocaine, which could cause problems for innocent borrowers.

“Today’s testing methods are so sensitive that traces of the drug originating from a contaminated book will be found in your hair, blood and urine,” said Jan Tytgat, a toxicologist at the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium.
