(NEW YORK) — Judging from some of the outfits she’s worn over the years, you’d be forgiven for thinking Lady Gaga is a space alien — but now, the singer evidently intends to be the first pop superstar to sing in outer space.
Virgin Galactic confirms to ABC News that Gaga has purchased a seat to fly on one of its ships in 2015, and US Weekly reports that while she’s on board, she’ll sing one song. It’s part of an event called the Zero G Colony tech festival, a three-day event held at Spaceport America in New Mexico.
According to the magazine, her performance will take place on the third day of the festival at dawn. This will be about six months after Virgin Galactic actually launches its first commercial flight.
While a rep for Gaga did not respond to requests for comment on US Weekly‘s story, Gaga herself re-tweeted it, lending some credence to it, and also tweeted the hashtag #GagainSpace. However, Virgin Galactic tells ABC News that the performance is still under negotiation.
