Lakers’ Kobe Bryant Defends His New Contract
Published at(NEW YORK) — Even though he has yet to step back on the court after tearing his Achilles tendon, Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant was recently rewarded with a $48.5 million deal. While some have criticized the deal, Bryant felt the need to defend the extension.
Bryant said, “I think the fans are, God bless them, they are fans and have good intentions and have good spirits about it, but I don’t think they understand the cap, or strategically what the Lakers are trying to do better than the Lakers do. I think we’ll be alright.”
The 35-year-old Bryant has spent his entire career with the Lakers. In his eighteenth season in Los Angeles, Bryant has won five NBA Championships, and has cemented himself as one of the best players in NBA history.
Bryant hopes to make his return to the court in a few weeks.
