WALMART? SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1385834115864Walmart(CLAREMONT, Calif.) — On Friday a man dressed as Santa was arrested at a protest against Walmart in California.

In the Santa suit was Karl Hilgert, of Claremont, Calif., who came with his own snowy white beard and a desire to protest what he claimed are unfair working conditions for Walmart employees.

While festively dressed, Hilgert didn’t expect his costume to keep him out of handcuffs.

“I’m going to get arrested for civil disobedience,” Hilgert told The San Bernardino Sun, before joining protesters in a nearby intersection.

Hilgert was part of a demonstration co-organized by Warehouse Workers United to protest what they claim are low wages and unfair working hours for Walmart employees.

Although Hilgert was eventually arrested, he still seemed to have good cheer and even offered a candy cane to a police sergeant before being taken away in handcuffs.
